We first wrote the outline for a book in March 2015, marking a four year journey between then and now. I am so thankful to the many hands who have had a part in bringing this to reality.
We build software – why a book? Everything we’ve done at Contactually has been rooted in our mission – We Empower Professionals to Build Authentic Relationships. I’ve seen the transformational power of just having the right people in your corner at the right time, again and again. And the benefits of having a strategy around nurturing relationships, rather it being executed haphazardly. Contactually, and similar tools, are just that – tools. But a strategy is reliant on not just having the right tools, but knowing how to use them. This book fills a gap that we saw in the market – it’s universally accepted that relationships are an important tool – but most struggle at understanding what the next best action is.
After Contactually was acquired earlier this year, many asked me if there was still a point to the book. I never wrote the book just to market our software — rather, I learned so much from people using our tools about developing a new mindset, and I wanted to give it back to the world. Words will always outlive code. For that reason, every cent that I receive from the book is going back to build homes for those in need via GiveBackHomes.
