I had been planning on writing my thoughts on this for a while, but spurred on by the announcement of a local tech incubator launching in the coming months, I felt it was time to write something.
Tech entrepreneurs, who dedicate so much of their lives to connecting people regardless of geographic location, still rely on […]

Having such lofty goals, and so little time to do it, maximizing my productivity is crucial. Every minute has to be devoted to doing something useful, and I have to ensure I have the mindset and the motivation to do it. You could spend hours on Lifehacker and similar sites, reading other people’s productivity secrets […]

The Organization Kid

In: Post Graduation, Politics

In short, at the top of the meritocratic ladder we have in America a
generation of students who are extraordinarily bright, morally earnest,
and incredibly industrious. They like to study and socialize in groups.
They create and join organizations with great enthusiasm. They are
responsible, safety-conscious, and mature. They feel no compelling need
to rebel—not even a hint of one. […]

Getting in the zone

In: DC, Post Graduation, Entrepreneurship

Besides riding to the top of here, watching these guys win an unwinnable game, and having a crap-ton of fun here, I still managed to code an extraordinary amount. Wrote a Facebook application (I’ll talk about talk about that eventually), came up with a bunch of ideas for other ones (if I feel like spending […]

I was initially furious when I saw “Second Life“, “College of Journalism” and “$5 million” in the same paragraph, but after seeing that it’s costing less than $1,000 of taxpayer/alumni money, the fact that my alma mater is taking Second Life seriously makes me laugh.

Just set up a Roth IRA (in addition to my employer’s 401(k), my savings account, and my investment brokerage account). My friends are starting to get married.I have a full time job.And loans.

Becoming the Teacher

JD:  “And four years of pre-med, four years of med school, and tons of unpaid loans have
made me realize one thing… I don’t know jack.”-Scrubs
That line above pretty much perfectly sums up how I felt on my first day of actual work. Years of education had taught me how to be a good writer, thinker, […]

Couch to 5K

In: Post Graduation, General

Over the course of college, especially the last two years, I gained a tremendous amount of weight. I tried to stem this by going to the gym, but “going to the gym” meant driving over there a couple times a week and doing half an hour on the elliptical. A lot of things changed once […]

Haven’t posted in a while. I am going to make a point to try and make one post a day from now on, on something interesting in the news, a reaction to something I hear, or whatever randomly makes its way into the spongy stuff between my ears. The actual reason I have not posted […]

Hi there!

My name is Zvi Band (pronounced zuh-vee), and I write this blog. You'll hear me talk about technology, social media, digital strategy, and entrepreneurship, all of which I am interested in.

I recently graduated (Go Terps!) and am working full time, however my heart lies in entrepreneurship. Watch me!

Everything I say is my own personal opinion, and should be treated as such. In this blog, what I say is not representative of my employer, clients, or anyone else other than myself.
